About the Role


We’re hiring a Mechanical Engineering Manager on behalf of our client, a well-established engineering firm serving clients across the public and private sectors. This is an exciting opportunity for a licensed mechanical engineer with strong HVAC and plumbing system expertise, a deep understanding of building codes, and a passion for mentoring junior engineers.



Key Responsibilities


  • Lead and perform engineering evaluations, analyses, site inspections, and mechanical system design
  • Prepare detailed design drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimates
  • Design HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems in compliance with NYS Mechanical, Energy, and Plumbing codes, as well as NFPA standards
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior staff and act as a subject matter expert
  • Support energy modeling and commissioning activities as needed



What We’re Looking For


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • NYS PE license required
  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design
  • Strong experience with HVAC, chilled/hot water systems, building controls, and plumbing/fire protection systems
  • Experience with healthcare, educational, and commercial facilities preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with energy modeling tools (HAP, TRACE, or eQUEST) and LEED certification preferred
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% within New York State
